These energy bites go everywhere with me. I pack them for road trips and hikes. They are perfect for parties. I even eat them for breakfast for mornings on the go. This is a snack I am happy to have in my repertoire. The best part is they are super easy to make. No baking required. All you need to do is stir everything up, refrigerate to harden and roll into bite-size balls. If you make a batch, you can snack on them throughout the week, but don’t be surprised when they are gone sooner than anticipated.
These energy bites are also a good way to sneak some super nutritious ingredients to your friends if you share them. They taste like dessert even though they are made with healthy foods. Flaxseed is high in omega-3, fiber, antioxidants and more. Hempseed is a complete protein, meaning it has all 9 essential amino acids (read more here). Oatmeal provides us manganese, selenium, phosphorus, and fiber. Peanut butter gives us delicious natural fat which makes these energy bites irresistibly rich.
This recipe would be great to make with kids because it is so simple. You can whip these up in under an hour, with most of that being hands off time. If you enjoyed this recipe, let me know in the comments below. Don’t forget to share and subscribe. Enjoy!
