I’ve been on a huge oatmeal kick lately. During the cold winter months it makes for a great warming breakfast. It’s also ready quickly, which comes in handy on those busy weekday mornings. This is my new favorite flavor of oatmeal. You are going to love the chocolatey taste of the cocoa and the fruity raspberries. It really transforms your typical oatmeal into a whole new dish!
Oatmeal is pretty straightforward to make and this recipe keeps it nice and simple. You make it like you normally would and then just stir in a few more ingredients after it is done cooking. Plus this recipe is great for kids because of the chocolatey taste and color. The key is to use cocoa powder and sweeten it with a natural sweetener like maple syrup.
This is a breakfast that you can feel good about eating. Unlike most pre-packaged oatmeals you buy at the store this recipe is sugar-free, oil-free, and contains only wholesome ingredients. The oats provide you with a serving of whole grains. Cocoa is known for it’s high mineral and flavonoid content. Flavonoids help prevent inflammation and can lower your blood pressure. Raspberries are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. These are healthy and delicious ingredients. What a wonderful way to start your day!
Lets get started!
