Are you ready for a new twist on crispy, and healthy oil-free kale chips? This recipe uses one of my all time favorite flavor profiles: curry. With a depth of flavors and spices, curry powder seems to make just about everything taste better. Kale chips are no exception! These chips are oil-free and vegan so you can feel great about eating them, and they are so cravable!
I am super excited to announce that my kitchen is coming together and I now have an OVEN! After a year of living in our tiny house while finishing it, the kitchen went in last week and I am beyond excited. The first thing I wanted to make when I got the oven was kale chips. I was just so excited to be able to make crispy, crunchy, healthy snacks again. Any kale chips you buy in the store are loaded with oil. Plus store bought varieties are pretty pricey for the amount you get. Making them yourself is quick, easy, affordable, and delicious.
Whenever I get the munchies I crave something crunchy and salty. This is a hard order to fill when you eat an oil-free vegan diet, so I’ve needed to get creative. Kale chips made with tahini instead of oil are my secret weapon. Everyone who eats these gets addicted to them! They are always so surprised when I tell them how healthy they are. Kale, along with all other leafy greens is such an important part of the diet because it provides so many essential nutrients, plus fiber and antioxidants. It boosts your immune system to help you fight off illness faster. Next time you are snacking, make a healthy choice by eating these kale chips instead of the processed fat-filled chips in the store.
Crispy, crunchy, and cravable kale chips perfectly seasoned with curry spices and baked to perfection!
- 1 bunch lacinato kale
- 3 tbsp tahini
- 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350°. Cut each kale leaf into 2-3 inch pieces. Place in a large bowl and drizzle with tahini. Using your hands massage the kale being sure that the tahini coats everything.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay out the kale on the baking sheet in a single layer without overlap. In a small dish mix the curry powder, ginger, and salt. Take pinches of the mixture and sprinkle generously over the kale.
Bake the kale chips in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Checking them often to be sure they don't burn. Once crispy remove from oven and enjoy right away.
